The Wealth Academy is a 90-day learning experience launching in August 2018 and closing in November 2018 designed to address topics related to wealth building and self care for up to 50 black women in Minnesota. Black Women’s Wealth Alliance developed the idea for the Wealth Academy by listening to the desires of our network—we know that in order to build sustainable wealth and wellness, the whole individual must be considered—not only the financial aspect of their lives.

WEALTH ACADEMY JOB POSITIONS 

Organization Summary: The Black Women’s Wealth Alliance (BWWA) was established as a working group in 2014 and incorporated as Minnesota’s first Black female owned Public Benefit Corporation. BWWA leverages Black culture as a core resource and educational tool to facilitate cooperative economics through wealth literacy, home ownership and cooperative & procurement business education.  Our team brings more than 40 years of impactful community wealth building knowledge, skills, strategies and networks. We are experienced entrepreneurs, educators, grassroots and professional leaders working across the business, wealth and community development sectors. 

 

JOB POSTING #1-Open until filled: Position Title: Academy Coordinator (W9 position)

Location:  1200 West Broadway Minneapolis MN 55411

Wage: $20.00/hour Part time 15-25hrs per week

Position Span: September 5th- November 27th

Position Description: The Academy Coordinator will: Provide overall support and project management & coordination to the Wealth Academy to ensure things are running smoothly, while working with BWWA admin and Academy support team members to coordinate as needed. You are the face and lead of the Wealth Academy.

·         Provide Academy students, educators and coaches with direct administrative support

·         Proactively handle rising issues or trouble shoot emerging problems

·         Report to an provide Bi-Weekly updates to BWWA Admin

·         Use existing Academy workplan, follow deliverable goals and execute

·         Collect, organize and manage all Academy data, documents including Academy & class contact lists and provide a final   

          Academy Summary

·         Work with Academy team members to ensure execution and delivery of Academy needs

Qualifications:

  • Must have some project management or coordination experience
  • Must be organized- know how to put things in order or a system, attentive to details and know how to work and communicate as a leader within a team setting
  • Must have well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently in the completion of priorities which may have competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of a range of computing applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Eventbrite, Google Docs, Email and more.
  • Ability to work and conduct yourself professionally putting your best foot forward
  • Ability to work through challenges and solve problems in a team environment
  • Must know how to take initiative and be self-accountable
  • A High School diploma (College experience preferred)

JOB POSTING#2- Open until filled: Position Title: Creatavator (W9 position)

Location:  1200 West Broadway Minneapolis MN 55411

Wage: $17.00/hour Part time 10-15 hrs per week

Position Span: September 5th- November 27th (could extend)

Position Description: The Creatavator will: Provide innovative & creative energy and expression to the Wealth Academy through social media, photography and videography. We are documenting the Academy and want a creative person who will capture the experiences of students, staff, coaches and educators.  

·         Record each Academy session by setting up a recording camera

·         Interview Academy students, coaches, educators and staff as permitted

·         Manage Academy social media and website postings

·         Promote BWWA general & Academy events and activities as needed

·         Help with imaging/design and bring creative ideas to the table

Qualifications:

  • Must have some media or creative design experience
  • Must be organized- know how to put things in order or a system, attentive to details and know how to work and communicate within a team setting
  • Must have well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently in the completion of priorities which may have competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of a range of computing applications such as Photoshop or other design & social media programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Eventbrite, Google Docs, Email and more.
  • Ability to work and conduct yourself professionally putting your best foot forward
  • Ability to work through challenges and solve problems in a team environment
  • Must know how to take initiative and be self-accountable
  • A High School diploma (College experience preferred)

Job Posting #3- Open until filled: Job Title: Events Coordinator (W9 Position)

Location:  1200 West Broadway Minneapolis MN 55411

Wage: $18.00/hour Part time 10-15hrs per week

Position Span: September 5th- November 27th

Position Description: The Events Coordinator will: Play a critical part in upholding the standard of excellence by making sure all sites are properly set up, organized and ready for Educators and Students.

·         Report to and provide administrative support to the Academy Coordinator

·         Take care of the logistics for all Academy class site locations which includes setting up classroom, snacks, educator

          materials, equipment etc.  

·         Proactively handle rising issues or trouble shoot emerging problems

·         Work with Academy Coaches to book locations for one to one sessions with students as needed

·         Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health or safety obligations of space/locations(s) used for academic purposes

·         Collect, organize and manage Academy site data, documents and provide a final events Summary

·         Plan and organize the Academy close out event

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have some event coordination experience
  • Must be organized- know how to put things in order or a system, attentive to details and know how to work and communicate within a team setting
  • Must have well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently in the completion of priorities which may have competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of a range of computing applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Eventbrite, Google Docs, Email and more.
